7 Ways to Make the Grade

Parents

Make The Grade Foundation is supportive of providing a well-rounded family and community structure for children inclusive of all “7 ways to make the grade”, believing in that it truly takes a village to raise a child. Sponsoring educational college bus tours wherein students and parents visit various colleges throughout parts of the country, encouraging parent’s involvement to advance the role of families and communities in securing high quality public education for every child, engaging in the processes of strengthening schools, and mobilizing parents in what parents, teachers, and schools can do collectively to address and resolve problems affecting today’s children is essential to enhancement of MTGF’s mission.

Teachers

Make The Grade Foundation has collaborated with teachers, principals, and parents to bring rewarding experiences and programs to students. Promoting healthy school lunches and eating habits for kids. Participating in the dynamics of school events, and providing other forms of assistance as needed, has been most memorable for MTGF and teachers.

Students

Make The Grade Foundation supports many school events and encourages and motivates students to focus, study hard, and be all that they can be. “If you can perceive it, you can believe it, if you can believe it, you can achieve it”. (former President Barack Obama) MTGF also has a radio program for students interested in a career in communications.

Communities

Make The Grade Foundation has engaged in various community events up to, but not limited, to donating turkeys and other giveaways for Thanksgiving, toys for tots at Christmas, blankets for seniors in winter, providing equipment, entertainment, marketing and promotional assistance for community sports and park events. Development is underway in the very near future, for a MTGF scholarship program. Sponsorships and resources from MTGF annual events and assistance from other community organizations may also jumpstart installation of additional radio programs (MTGF signature project) in schools, and supplement a career in this industry for a very deserving scholar from the community.

Clergy

Make The Grade Foundation has an affiliation with churches in the New York City area, participating in health fairs, fundraisers, anniversaries, church outings, and community events, as well as other spiritual activities.

Financial Literacy

Make The Grade Foundation has worked closely with financial institutions who provide funding for educational projects geared toward enriching the learning experience of high school and college students. Partnering with Municipal Credit Union (MCU) who supported grants to build radio and communication systems for schools that embraced communications technology has allowed MTGF to provide another level of expertise and skill to the educational process.

Health

Make The Grade Foundation has partnered regularly with Health First Insurance and others to bring awareness to the community at large regarding health issues, disease, emergency medical abilities and preventive care. It has been determined by many experts in the healthcare field that early intervention and proper healthcare and health coverage has lessened the burdens of families and caregivers in recent years.
